Magazine Inspired Draft

 The article for The Box in the October 2009 edition of Empire really caught my eye when I was flicking through the magazine, the composition of the article was interesting and once looking at it more carefully I realised that it was mimicking a box with lots of straight edges and 90 degrees angles. I then was inspired by this article to create my own version of it. I have only created a basic outline for this one as I do not think the style suits our short film entirely so I will continue to research layout but I will take things from this article and try to apply them to my finish review.

Magazine - Colour

Colour is a very prominent aspect of Empire magazine, they use it to give the readers a feel of the film and an indictor of the genre. The article above regarding the film To Kill A Mockingbird is in black and white and this is reflected in the magazine by using only dull and subdued colours. In contrast to this piece the article about Sherlock is very vibrant and colourful, this hints at the genre of the film as it is partly a comedy, also it could possibly suggest the time period as To Kill A Mockingbird was made a long time ago however Sherlock is a present day film and was made in the past few years.
